Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR G. KENNEDY, P. Eng. Arthur was born and educated in Loughborough, England. He became a Civil Engineer and served in the Second World War as a Captain with the Royal Engineers. In 1944 he met and married Eileen Farnworth. They celebrated their 63rd Anniversary on April 15 of this year. After the war, his work as a Civil Engineer took him to England, South Africa and West Africa. In 1957 he came to Canada with his wife and family of three young sons to begin a 27 year career with the Ministry of Transport in such places as Regina, Winnipeg and Calgary. He was involved with the building of airports across Canada including the Northwest Territories. In 1975, they moved to Calgary to work on the new airport. He retired and they continued to live here until his passing on October 14, 2007. During his lifetime he was a ardent golfer and Cricketer, an accomplished artist, leaving his family with many beautiful paintings to cherish. He loved nature, flowers and the mountains and traveled to many places in the world enjoying the sunsets as he loved sunsets as his many photos will atest to. He enjoyed a good beer and the odd gin and tonic. He enjoyed family gatherings and get togethers with friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and youngest son Malcolm at the age of 24. He is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife Eileen, his sons Tony and wife On of Bahrain, Ian and wife Lynda of Minnedosa, Manitoba; grandsons Arthur, Robert and fiancee Cecily of Winnipeg, Manitoba as well as numerous relatives in England and many friends in Calgary and abroad. There will be no service held at his request.
